 Hostel in Sobieszewo

We’re excited to celebrate the opening of the first full-time rehabilitation place for people with psychical crisis .  The Hostel in Sobieszewo was made by Habitat for Humanity, in partnership with Hope for Family. The celebration was on 22. 10. 2010 , with many guests- mostly partners and sponsors. In the family atmosphere we heard many warm words. The most important moments were the ribbon cutting and show table. Both organizers and visitors were satisfied. The hostel is meant to help sick people, not only in the treatment but also in providing shelter for the time of their rehabilitation. It’s mission is to help the patient come back to life in society.

Habitat for Humanity in Project CEAL- now look on the social economy

 

Habitat for Humanity is one of ten non- governmental organizations (NGO) active in Gdansk who joined the Project CEAL- a new look on the social economy with a British perspective.  The project is organized by GFIS , Ashton Community Trust from Belfast and Discover’s Children Center from London.  The length of the project is from June 2010 to the end of December 2011. We want to find an evolutionary way to build Community Centers, using British experience.  We can make it by participating in a conversation studio. There will be special meetings with experts from abroad.  The principal object of Project CEAL is to create a foundation for opening the Center of Education and Animation in every Gdańsk district. It will be recommended and worked on in the Pomerian Voivodeship. HfH Gdansk hopes that the project will be a chance to increase activity and involvement in the local population.
